OFNL Network Wide Maintenance - OFNLITYNW003

OFNL Description of Works:

OFNL are working to upgrade our Core Routers to provide increased capacity for ISP connections in Telehouse West. As part of this work, OFNL will be performing a change to our Core Router chassis in Telehouse West (THW).

All impacted customers have been notified by email and provided with further information in relation to the works. We will be using this incident to provide updates to our customers and ensure close monitoring of our network so that we can restore services as quickly as possible following completion of the works at their end.

Manchester Manchester Trunk Route Fibre Outage

Full service interruption in Manchester city centre

  • We can confirm the service was fully operational at 1am. We are continuing to work with the supplier to understand the reasons for no prior warning and awaiting their Reason For Outage report.

  • Our team has managed to restore services to the affected buildings. We are continuing to work with our national fibre provider on the restoration of services via our Main Links.

  • We have been informed of the following works, We are working with our national fibre provider to understand the impact as no prior notice has been issued.

    Reason: Undertaking a major diversion of fibre network due to diversionary works as a result of a scheme by National Highways around junction 6 on the M42.

    We are currently investigating a performance issue on an underground cable link. Engineers are estimated to be on-site by 8 pm this evening to investigate the root cause and provide a resolution.

  • Issue resolved

  • Engineers have located a damaged cable. This has been repaired and services should now be restored. We will now monitor

  • Engineers are struggling to locate the issue but are continuing to investigate

  • Engineers have arrived on-site they are now conducting some preliminary investigations.

  • Our engineers are currently delayed due to inclement weather on the route. We are now estimating arrival at 8.30 pm.
