OFNL Network Wide Maintenance - OFNLITYNW005

OFNL Description of Works:

On the 4th June 2026, OFNL upgraded our Core Routers to provide increased capacity for ISP connections in Telehouse West (THW), and we swapped our Chassis in THW.  To complete this work, OFNL needs to initiate a final reboot of the equipment to bring it into service. OFNL expect this final reboot to take up to 45 minutes.

All impacted customers have been notified by email and provided with further information in relation to the works. We will be using this incident to provide updates to our customers and ensure close monitoring of our network so that we can restore services as quickly as possible following completion of the works at their end.

Manchester Castle Irwell Power Loss

A loss of power to key telecommunications infrastructure in this area is causing a partial outage on the Castle Irwell site. We are unable to locate the cause of the power loss remotely, and battery backup is in place t take the load so engineers have been dispatched to the site to investigate. ETA on site 8.56am

  • Services have now been restored. We are now testing

  • Replacement equipment needs to be configured to be operational. Estimated time for work to complete 2.5 hours

  • Replacement equipment is being installed as we believe this has become faulty

  • Power is restored but some equipment is not responding how it should We are currently working to identify the cause of this

  • Engineers have arrived on site. We expect more information very shortly

  • Primary Circuit Restored

  • Services are now up and running for all users on a temporary circuit with performance issues expected. More updates on the main circuit to follow.

  • Work around implemented

  • Efforts are now beginning to start rerouting traffic to get users back online. This process will take some time and you will see some performance issues until our primary circuit is back up and running.

  • Issue identified between Barton and London circuit. Engineers are attempting to move traffic via an alternative route
