OFNL Network Wide Maintenance - OFNLITYNW005

OFNL Description of Works:

On the 4th June 2026, OFNL upgraded our Core Routers to provide increased capacity for ISP connections in Telehouse West (THW), and we swapped our Chassis in THW.  To complete this work, OFNL needs to initiate a final reboot of the equipment to bring it into service. OFNL expect this final reboot to take up to 45 minutes.

All impacted customers have been notified by email and provided with further information in relation to the works. We will be using this incident to provide updates to our customers and ensure close monitoring of our network so that we can restore services as quickly as possible following completion of the works at their end.

Manchester Castle Irwell

We have been made aware by a service strike to the electricity services supplying the Castle Irwell site. Many homes on the site are currently without power along with our street furniture. The contractor is working to restore power to the on-site substation. Expected resolution approx 12.30pm

  • Power has been restored to the properties on-site. We have monitored the service over the last 30minutes and the service appears stable.

    We are currently investigating an issue with a Fibre Link between Manchester and London.

  • Our supplier is advising us that the Fibre has now been repaired and normal service has resumed. We are monitoring the situation

  • Our suppliers have advised the following: Damage has been located to a fibre joint servicing your connection between Manchester and London, our field engineers are currently investigating a suitable repair to this service.
